Bandung Trip: Flight do's and don'ts (part 1)

When do I need to check-in for my flight?

AirAsia (AK, FD and QZ Flights)

AirAsia's check-in counters are open two (2) hours and close forty-five (45) minutes prior to the scheduled flight departure time . Please produce the booking number/printed itinerary upon check-in together with your identification card or passport. Failure to present yourself at the counter before counter closure will result in denial for check-in.

What is the allowable dimension for hand carry baggage?

Your hand carry baggage should be the 56 x 36 x 23 cm in dimension and should weigh less than 7 kg. It should fit under the seat in front of you or in the enclosed storage compartment.

Unchecked Baggage: Passengers (except infants) are allowed two (2) items of baggage to be carried on board. The items of baggage may be a combination of any two of the following: cabin bag or a laptop bag or a handbag.

I myself will bring one cabin bag and small back pack (nappies bag)

Is there a checked baggage allowance for infants?

There is no longer any checked baggage allowance, checked baggage weight will have to be pre-booked or will be charge the airport rate upon check-in. For infants AirAsia allow baby buggies/strollers/prams to be carried free of charge.

We do not plan to check in baggage from Malaysia because I've read somewhere that it might take quite some time for you to receive the checked-in baggage at bandung airport.

Can I check-in valuable or fragile goods?

AirAsia strongly advises that such items are not checked-in. If valuable or precious items are checked-in as baggage, guests are doing so at your own risk. Such items may include money, jewellery, precious metals, silverware, electronic devices, computers, cameras, video equipment, negotiable papers, securities or other valuables, passports and important documents such as title deeds, artifacts, manuscripts and the likes.

You guys might be wondering, NO? I need to bring the small rice cooker to cook sara's nasik. I still couldn't dare myself to let my daughter have other than home-made food. Sikit2 ok la.. I am quite concern about the cleanliness of the food.

Is fresh produce or frozen seafood accepted onboard?

AirAsia (AK, FD and QZ Flights)

Frozen seafood and fresh produce cannot be accepted as checked baggage, however, guest are allowed to carry it onboard as hand carry baggage, provided it is properly packed at source and within the cabin baggage weight and size limitation - if dry ice is used to carry these items (in cabin baggage), then a maximum of 2 kg of dry ice per guest is permissible in the cabin.

Fresh or frozen seafood or other meats provided that such items may be carried on board as hand luggage only if we are satisfied that they have been properly packed. Strictly only styrofoam and/or cooler boxes that contain dry food/non-perishables are allowed to be checked-in after inspection of contents by relevant authorities.

Yet again, I need to bring the prepared vegetables and perhaps some frozen meat to prepare meal for Sara.

And yes we are here! For 2 nights. Pre-book on hotel's website for Superior Chalet but been told during the check-in that Superior chalet is not available at the moment so guess what, our room has been upgraded to Executive Deluxe for no extra charge. How cool was that! Yeah I know I know. Hehe. The room is huge and super nice and it has a four-poster bed. Super like. And our chalet is only few steps away from the pool. Rezeki Adib n Sara. Its Adib's first outing and first hotel stays. Anyway I am so gonna enjoy our stay here in Cyberview. Had bfast earlier at Verandah Restaurant and strolling around the resort and surveying the pool area. Sara had her 1st round of swimming with MM while I bathed Adib in our room. Later will go to IOI putrajaya for lunch.  For now, lets cherish the moment and enjoy the photos while i'm joining the kids and hubsy for a nap. Later. Hope you guys have a splendid school break too.

Ordinary Spa at Penjara Wanita Kajang

Ordinary ke? Tak lah ordinary sangat. It is just a typical Balinese concept Spa. But what makes it ordinary is the location and the Spa therapist itself. It is the Penjara Wanita Kajang Spa I was mentioning about :) Went to these spa last week because I need a back massage so badly. Luckily I have an old friend working at Penjara Wanita Kajang as warden. I did asked her the procedure and such. She offered to make a reservation for me instead. Easy peasy :). So, I just went there and waited for her to bring me to the spa. I did not take photo at the spa (we are allowed to take pictures but I forgot to do so. Excited sangat). It is a beautiful place and the therapists were very nice to us. I had a splendid time and enjoyed the 1 hour full body massage of mine.My therapist was a 30-yrs-old Sulawesi-an and she's also a mother to a 6-yrs-old daughter.  The price is way too cheaper compared to the common spa. I paid RM40 for full body massage (traditional massage) an...

..

I am excited to update this dusty blog. But what shall I write about? - I don't know. Being in the third trimester - 36 weeks to be exact is no kidding. I guess when you're aging and pregnant you feel lethargic very easily. Maybe I am not FIT enough? But still, you have to deal with what you have to do at work and home instead. You could not complain much. Errands have to be run. I still cook for dinner, almost every day. Laundry, no exception. Cleaning, yes but once in a while though. Sara has been busy. I think she's still adapting to her new schedule. Previous 2-3 weeks was hectic for her. Despite a tight schedule at school, she had to attend numbers of rehearsal sessions for her first and second #TARI show. She looks tired, or so I think. But I can see that she had a pleasant time. You know the feeling when you've got the chance to do things that you fond of. That's more like it. Counting days to Adib's 3rd birthday. It's on April 28th. May this ...
