Sara's First Solid Food

I have not been updating for quite a long time. My writing skill has been lacking since then. I am running out of ideas of what I am going to write; especially when it comes to the part of choosing the beautiful yet meaningful words. Hurmmm...

Okay done with that.

Anyway, my little daughter has reached to 6 month old last 15th May. I am extremely excited to start cooking her food, especially her very first food. As a first time mother, I am determined to cook for my daughter as long as I could. Apart from my hectic daily life at work (yes, work has been piling up right now), the house chores and etc,  I tried to find some quality time to be spend with my little girl. It's a wonderful experience to see your child growing up. And it would be even more wonderful to pamper our child with the homemade food, our own 'air tangan'. =)

So for Sara, I started out with plain porridge serve with breast milk I prefer to use breast milk for thinning the texture of the porridge instead of using plain water. She loves it from the first bite. And oh, looking at her, spoon feed her is the super precious moment.

p/s: buah betik tu tok wan sara yang makan.

plain porridge yang dilenyek di dalam penapis dan sedikit jus betik yang ditapis juga.

I gave her plain porridge with breast milk for 3 days. And then the fourth day I made pureed avocado served with breast milk. She loves it though.

I used this recipe I've got from http://www.wholesomebabyfood.com

Baby's Mashed Avocado for babies 4-6 months
Peel and de-pit a ripe avocado
Cut “meat” out and mash with a fork

There should be no need to use a machine as just like bananas, avocados have a very soft consistency and texture. Avocados do not need to be cooked.

I'm still try n error, trying to mix and match the recipe for Sara's meal so that she does not bore with the food. In a meantime I have to monitor what's the YES and NO for Sara because I do not want to feed her with the food that will lead to allergenic.

This week, I cook porridge+vegetable for her. And today, I tried to add some ikan bilis to her meal.

Porridge with carrot, sawi and ikan bilis
- uncooked rice ( 2-3 spoon )
- steamed carrot
- sawi
- ikan bilis yang telah dikisar halus

Cook all ingredients together ( except for ikan bilis) for 30 minutes. Add ikan bilis yang dikisar halus and stir.  Leave the porridge to cool a bit. Then mash it on the sieve. Add breast milk to thinned the texture and to make the porridge tasty. ;)

And for dinner I just make simple mashed potato and  carrot, also serve with breast milk.

Sara & Adib @Cyberview Resort & Spa

And yes we are here! For 2 nights. Pre-book on hotel's website for Superior Chalet but been told during the check-in that Superior chalet is not available at the moment so guess what, our room has been upgraded to Executive Deluxe for no extra charge. How cool was that! Yeah I know I know. Hehe. The room is huge and super nice and it has a four-poster bed. Super like. And our chalet is only few steps away from the pool. Rezeki Adib n Sara. Its Adib's first outing and first hotel stays. Anyway I am so gonna enjoy our stay here in Cyberview. Had bfast earlier at Verandah Restaurant and strolling around the resort and surveying the pool area. Sara had her 1st round of swimming with MM while I bathed Adib in our room. Later will go to IOI putrajaya for lunch.  For now, lets cherish the moment and enjoy the photos while i'm joining the kids and hubsy for a nap. Later. Hope you guys have a splendid school break too.

Ordinary Spa at Penjara Wanita Kajang

Ordinary ke? Tak lah ordinary sangat. It is just a typical Balinese concept Spa. But what makes it ordinary is the location and the Spa therapist itself. It is the Penjara Wanita Kajang Spa I was mentioning about :) Went to these spa last week because I need a back massage so badly. Luckily I have an old friend working at Penjara Wanita Kajang as warden. I did asked her the procedure and such. She offered to make a reservation for me instead. Easy peasy :). So, I just went there and waited for her to bring me to the spa. I did not take photo at the spa (we are allowed to take pictures but I forgot to do so. Excited sangat). It is a beautiful place and the therapists were very nice to us. I had a splendid time and enjoyed the 1 hour full body massage of mine.My therapist was a 30-yrs-old Sulawesi-an and she's also a mother to a 6-yrs-old daughter.  The price is way too cheaper compared to the common spa. I paid RM40 for full body massage (traditional massage) an...

..

I am excited to update this dusty blog. But what shall I write about? - I don't know. Being in the third trimester - 36 weeks to be exact is no kidding. I guess when you're aging and pregnant you feel lethargic very easily. Maybe I am not FIT enough? But still, you have to deal with what you have to do at work and home instead. You could not complain much. Errands have to be run. I still cook for dinner, almost every day. Laundry, no exception. Cleaning, yes but once in a while though. Sara has been busy. I think she's still adapting to her new schedule. Previous 2-3 weeks was hectic for her. Despite a tight schedule at school, she had to attend numbers of rehearsal sessions for her first and second #TARI show. She looks tired, or so I think. But I can see that she had a pleasant time. You know the feeling when you've got the chance to do things that you fond of. That's more like it. Counting days to Adib's 3rd birthday. It's on April 28th. May this ...
